Beergartitas

These Beergaritas are life changing. I'm not kidding.  I didn't like to "sip" on tequila until I had these bad boys a few years back at my friend Heather's Bachelorette party.  True story.  I was a total tequila shot lady, whatever it took to get it down the hatch--absolutely no sipping.  Until this refreshing, slushy concoction graced my lips.  Game over.  Total tequila sipper now.  

Load up your blender with ice.

Dump in a can of limeade concentrate.

Beer

And blend, splashing it everywhere.  Errr. I need a new blender.  Vitamix, where you at?  Just kidding…kinda. Wait, no not really.

Using a lime, go all the way around the rim

Dip in coarse salt

Rimmed.  Then pour your Beergarita in and serve.

Slurp. 

Slurp.

Oh and if you are making these for a party, you could totally do it ahead of time, secure the lid and pop them in the freezer like these Slushy Make Ahead Lava Flow Cocktails.

Beergaritas
(makes 4 large drinks)
4 cups ice
1 can frozen limeade concentrate
3/4 cup tequila (more or less depending on how strong you want it)
3/4 cup beer
1 lime for rimming and garnish
Course salt

Add the ice, limeade concentrate, tequila and beer into the blender.  Blend until completely smooth.

Cut a lime into wedges and use a wedge all the way around the rim of your glass.  Dip in salt.  Pour Beergarita in and enjoy!

**If you are making these ahead of time for a party (or to just have on hand just in case), secure the lid and pop them in the freezer.  The tequila will keep them the perfect consistency.**

Blueberry Pineapple Mojito

While laying in bed one Saturday morning for whatever reason, blueberries popped into my head.  Then pineapple.  Then MOJITOS!? Ah…. yep.  I love mojitos. They are really the perfect summer drink.  But, the price tag when ordering them at a restaurant, no thanks.

Make these and enjoy them on your deck, patio or like we did, standing in the kitchen slurping them to the last drop.  Just keepin' it real people.  I promise you will like them.  Pinky swear.

 Start by putting about a cup of crushed ice in a shaker or glass.

 Squeeze in the juice of a lime wedge and toss that in there too.  ** At this point in time I would like to disclose that Mr. Schwartz helped me, these are his manly freckled fingers.**

 Add 4-5 mint leaves.

 A handful of blueberries

 A few fresh pineapple chunks

 And two packets of Sweet 'n Low.  This worked out perfectly, because Sweet 'n Low is so fine, it dissolved perfectly and added just of sweetness the drink needed.

 Add a shot of white rum.

 Using a muddler or the back of a wooden spoon, smash the heck out of everything.

 Pour into your serving glass.

 Add more ice.

 And top with soda water. Stir it up.

 And slurp it down...

 I could drink a pitcher of these.

 Cheers to the dog days of summer.

Blueberry Pineapple Mojitos
(makes one drink but can be easily doubled or quadrupled)

1 1/2 cups crushed ice
1 lime wedge
4-5 mint leaves
a handful of blueberries
2-3 fresh pineapple chunks
2 packets Sweet 'n Low
1.5 oz (1 shot) white rum
8 oz soda water

In a glass or cocktail shaker, add a cup of the crushed ice.  Squeeze the lime into the glass/shaker, toss the whole lime wedge in as well.  Then add the blueberries, pineapple, Sweet 'n Low and rum.  Using a muddler or the back of a large wooden spoon, smash everything together.

Pour everything into a glass.  Add the remaining ice and top off with soda water.  Stir to combine and serve.
