Beautycounter Mystery Hostess Social and Kick Off!

Wednesday, July 22, 2015

Remember when I posted about my love for Beautycounter and their Nourishing Cleansing Balm?  Well, my love has only increased in the last few weeks and I have joined the movement.

We have been really careful about what we feed Addie.  You know, organic, non-processed food...for the most part.  We do the best that we can that is for sure!  We also thought that we were being very careful about what products we were using on Addie.  Well, the truth is, we weren't being as careful as we thought.  I had no idea that the beauty and personal care industry was so unregulated, even in baby products!  They can use words like "safe and natural" without testing a single ingredient.  That struck a cord for me and I started to think more about what products we were using.  Which got me to thinking even more, if we wouldn't use it on Addie, why would we use it on ourselves?  That's when I decided that not only did we need to change what we were doing, I wanted to do more and help my friends and family (and everyone else) make smart choices about the products they use in their home as well!

I am passionate about "Getting safe products in the hands of everyone," which happens to be Beautycounter's mission.  We are slowly transitioning our personal care and my beauty products out for safe products in our home.  I hope to spread the word so others do as well.  I need my friends and family to live longer, healthier lives!  But it isn't just about my family and friends, it's about yours as well.  It's about your baby, your mom and grandma.  We have had so many people in our lives affected by infertility, cancer, allergies and autoimmune disorders.  While swapping out your shame might not change all of that, it is something you can control on a daily basis.  Additionally, Beautycounter not only is producing products that are safe, we want to change the face of the industry.  I hope one day that we will all look back and think "remember when we had no idea what was in the products we use every day!?" Just like we laugh now that smoking was allowed everywhere.

I would love for you all to give Beautycounter a try for yourself!  Right now I am hosting a Mystery Hostess Social.  That means if you make a purchase under the Mystery Hostess Social, you will be in the running to win the Hostess Benefits!  Additionally, right now there is a buy one get one free offer until July 23rd on our luxurious Enrich Body Butter.

Beauty Counter Review and Giveaway!

Thursday, April 23, 2015

Since becoming a mom, I have been more careful about things I never thought I would be.  I'm assuming other mamas (and dads for that matter) are similar, new baby = new perspective and purpose.  I am (more) particular about the products we use, food we eat and activities we participate in.  I basically want to live forever with my little family and because of that, I try to make healthy choices to prolong things together.  Is this getting kind of morbid? I hope not.

Anyway, my friend (and Seester's college roommate) Anna, posted on Facebook about a year ago saying that she was starting to work with a company called Beautycounter.  Anna is a cool, trendy mama and I thought "I better check this out!"  I looked at her website and realized that she was really onto something.  Beautycounter seemed like an awesome company with a great mission: "To get healthy products in the hands of everyone."

I reached out to Anna and asked if she would like to partner with the blog and she said yes!  She sent me a bunch of goodies to try and I have had such a good time trying them.  To give full disclosure, I have had these products for about 6 months because A. baby and B. I wanted to give them a full trial before posting my thoughts.
And my thoughts...amazing.
Not only are the products safe and clearly outline every.single.safe.ingredient.  The products are fantastic!
Specifically I have LOVED, ADORED the Countertime Nurishing Cleansing Balm. I'm going to be completely honest that before receiving this generous package from Anna I would "wash" my face with one of those throw away Up&Up brand face wipes. They were quick and easy and quick and easy was (and usually still is) my middle name.  But, I gave the cleansing balm a try.

Upon first use I was super nervous as it is really moisturizing, almost greasy feeling.  I am prone to acne, yes still at 30, so feeling like I was adding more oil to the party.  But I slathered on an "almond sized" amount on my face, washed it off with the cloth it came with and was amazed by the results after just one wash!  My skin was supple, soft and felt so buttery already!  I haven't looked back since.

Many people have noticed my glowing skin, even my 4 year old niece, Mya commented "Auntie your skin is so smooooth!" Come on, if a 4 year old notices how good your skin looks, it has to be good, amiright?!

Not only can the balm be used for daily face wash it is great on blemishes, an ultra hydrating overnight mask (I can't wait to try that this summer when I have had too much sun!), moisturizer for dry cuticles, elbows and heals and Anna said that she has used it for diaper rash as well!

I would LOVE to share the joy of healthy, going skin with one of you!  Anna has generously offered to giveaway a Countertime Nourishing Cleansing Balm to one of you!  It is a $75 value!  I should add that $75 for a face product does sound like a lot however, considering the results I have had and that I have been using the same tub of it since the beginning of December, I think it is totally worth it.

Okay, enough raving, who wants to win!?  Enter below using the Rafflecopter widget below.  The giveaway is live now and goes until this Monday, April 27th at midnight.  I will announce the winner next week! Let me know if you have any questions or difficulty with the widget.  I can be reached at mrsschwartzskitchen@gmail.com
