Frozen Hot Chocolate

Saturday, January 21, 2012

Okay, I know it's freezing outside but I couldn't help but make and absolutely enjoy the heck out of this frozen hot chocolate.  I'm sure you have heard of this famous treat from Serendipity and have noticed plenty of knock off recipes floating around the internet.  Let me just say, I have never had the real mccoy and therefore I have no idea if it tastes like it.  But, I  know that this is freaking fantastic.  I have made several in the past few weeks and thought it was about time to share it with you.

Oh and before I forget remember to enter the Stella and Dot giveaway by clicking HERE The contest ends on Monday so enter NOW! Thank you.

Musical Selection: Half of My Heart by: John Mayer.  Just having a chill John Mayer kinda day.
Start by pouring the milk and one packet of hot chocolate mix into a blender or in my case, a food processor.
Give it a whirl until it is combined
 And frothy like this.
 Add the ice cubes.
 And blend until smooth.
Pour into a glass or dish, top with whipped cream and chocolate sauce.
Ahhh…fantastic.

Please also note that I used fat free (skim) milk as well as fat free whipped cream and it was absolutely to die for.  I did try it once with half and half and it tasted the same so don't waste the calories.

Frozen Hot Chocolate
(makes one serving)

1 cup milk
1 package hot chocolate mix
8 ice cubes
whipped cream for topping
chocolate sauce for drizzling

Pour the milk and hot chocolate mix into a food processor or blender.  Blend until combined and frothy.

Add the ice and blend until smooth.

Pour into a glass and top with whipped cream and a drizzle of chocolate sauce.

Enjoy!
